SUMMARY
Lauzzi Restaurant has made a huge progress in the hotel and tourism industry. It is among the few hotels, which made pretax annual in excess of 30%. The Board of Directors has promised to allocate an estimated capital improvement fund of $1.7 million to expand the hotel within the same site. There is a 2-acre land next to the golf court just adequate to erect a new building. Our architectural designer, in collaboration with his counterpart quantity surveyor, has suggested that a 2-storey structure with a total of 40 self-contained rooms would be enough to accommodate our increasing amount of customers. The proposal focuses on the water and wastewater management measures, and not the cost of constructing the entire building.
BACKGROUND Lauzzi Restaurant had an original capacity of accommodating 100 guests in the rooms. The facilities within this hotel, such as gym, casino, and the basketball court, have almost become congested, and we found it necessary to open another operational unit inside our 5-acre compound. Thus, due to the increasing number of customers, and considering the professional reasons, we have been attempting to expand our facility to optimize profits.
THE ACTUAL PROBLEM Besides the two giant clean water tanks we already have, a third one is needed to constantly supply the new building. The water availability in the new building must be sustained under all circumstances. The procedure for handling of water and wastewater sewage systems has been divided into the phases described below.
FRESH WATER TANK CONSTRUCTION The water tank will be built using waterproof cement. The dimensions of the tank are (10 m) x (10 m) x (10 m), which makes 1000 m3. The reservoir can store 1000000 liters of water. It will require skilled labor.
WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT Wastewater management is a serious challenge to all businesses in operating in the cities. Wastewater must be handled in a safe manner to render it for recycling into a water system or for disposing it with caution to protect the environment. Biological and physical approaches are applied during wastewater treatment to neutralize bacteria and to remove any insoluble solid particles. Sewage treatment takes care of a commercial, environmental, and domestic sewage (Wastewater Management, n.d.). Since it is a hotel, the amount of wastewater coming from the toilets, bathing and washing of bedding may be large enough to trouble the neighborhood, if not prudently disposed of or recycled. Therefore, the new building is going to have a separate sewage treatment process. A sewage system with a rectangular cross section is likely to be the option for this project. I think a 30m-depth hole with a cross section of (15 m) x (10 m) is sufficient. By approximation, each guest will consume around 60 liters a day. Given that the tank is to have a volume of (15 m) x (10 m) x (30 m) = 4500 cubic meters, which translates to 4500000 liters, the tank can accommodate accumulated waste for over 2 years without getting filled up. The main pipe work for wastewater will be achieved using the wide lumen PVC pipes.
CLEAN WATER MANAGEMENT There are increasing demands for supplies of reliable, good quality and affordable water for usage at home, hotels, industries and agriculture, over the last three decades. So dedicated are we to ensure that our clients get sufficient water, that the society must get water too (Freshwater Management, n.d.). By purchasing constricted taps, with narrow lumen, the misuse of water either intentionally or accidentally, especially by customers, shall not happen at all costs. The balance is a top concern on the grounds that hotels are operated to help the community, not to drag people through oppression. The local authorities supply us with a limited amount of water, and since the latter could not cater for all our customers needs, we usually contract private water companies to supplement us. Our hotel is determined to make as much water as possible, available for our clients and staff. Under no circumstance should the hotel run out of water because we all know the loss of customers will be the only casualty for us. The Greenwaters Company Limited will continue to supply us with more water. To ensure regular water availability, Greenwaters will supply fresh clean water to this new block. 10 cubic meters of water will be filled in the new fresh water reservoir. It is also combined with the supply from local authorities, thus, making everything possible in order to avoid customer complaints.
PLUMBING EXPENDITURE Pipes will connect the fresh water reservoir in a network way to supply tap water into the sinks, bathtubs, toilets and bathroom showers. The fresh water runs, from the underground tank, into the guest rooms. The process of mounting and connecting these pipes will require large amounts of funds. A competent company, known for the high quality of the provided services, should be hired by Hotel Lauzzi in order to realize this part. It is recommended to use steel water pipes, since they are very durable. Secondly, the taps to be used on sinks should be of a press and hold type, to minimize water wastage. A total pipe length of 200 m can connect all the 40 rooms to the main reservoir.

CONCLUSION
The proposed amount of money is $1,356,100 ($318,200 + $1,037,900), which is enough to take care of all expenses. Adding the transportation of building materials cost to the above estimation, will reach the $1.7 M mark. The hotel industry is one of the most important places where hygiene is mandatory. The inner walls of sewage tanks will be covered with waterproof cement to prevent the waste from penetrating into the fresh water reservoirs. Chemicals to disinfect the sewage, before it is allocated, are to be available. If the wastes were released without treatment, Lauzzi Restaurant would be acting in violation of social norms. The given measure will put us in the Corporate Social Responsibility circle. On a regular basis, we shall be giving contracts to the local authorities to organize the sewer cleaning in order to avoid flooding. The company has come from far and hopes that the above-mentioned funds will be available for this project. We are close to expanding our business operations even to the international market, if mutual approach to the company development is achieved.
